Pasadena Launches System to Keep Seniors Up to Date on COVID-19 Vaccine Availability

The Pasadena Department of Public Health has created an online form for seniors 65 and older to fill out in order to receive updates on when COVID-19 vaccines will be available in the city.

The move comes on the heels of an announcement by state public health officials Wednesday that those over the age of 65 were eligible to receive the vaccines under the state’s tiered rollout plan, once available through their local health agencies.

While the infrastructure to distribute the vaccines to local seniors is already in place, progress is contingent on the delivery of vaccines to the city, said Pasadena Public Information Officer Lisa Derderian.

At this time we are waiting for vaccine supply from the state, and we will make appointments available when the vaccine is available,” city officials said in a written statement. “Please contact your primary healthcare provider who may have access to the COVID-19 vaccine sooner.”

Officials pointed out that the form could not be used to schedule appointments, but rather to receive updates about the status of the vaccination supply.

The inquiry form can be found online at https://www.cityofpasadena.net/public-health/covid-19-vaccine/#65-and-over.
