A Pasadena man was arrested following a high-speed pursuit that ended near Newhall last Thursday, according to Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol Newhall Area office.
William Blazek, 46, allegedly led California Highway Patrol officers on a chase after they reportedly observed his Silver Toyota SUV traveling at a high rate of speed on northbound The Old Road at McBean Parkway around 5:29 p.m. on April 5. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, Blazek reportedly failed to yield, initiating the pursuit.
The pursuit continued for several miles northbound on The Old Road, with Blazek making a right turn onto Valencia Blvd. and an immediate left onto Tourney Road before coming to a stop in a parking lot.
Blazek then fled on foot but was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit, Greengard said.
Blazek was booked into the Santa Clarita Sheriff station on suspicion of felony evading, according to Greengard.
