Pasadena resident Manuel Jose Delgado, 42, has been arrested by San Bernardino Police Monday for allegedly committing a carjacking in Redlands last weekend and evading police.

Delgado was apprehended on Monday after a high-speed pursuit that ended in the City of Colton. According to the officers, evidence found at the scene indicated that Delgado was in possession of a vehicle stolen during the Redlands carjacking on Sunday, March 26.

Reportedly, the victim went to an alley behind the 1000 block of Tribune Street in Redlands with a woman he had met earlier online. There, Delgado allegedly entered the rear passenger side of the vehicle, threatening the victim at gunpoint and demanding his personal property. Delgado and his accomplice forced the victim out of the car, a 2015 white Chrysler 200, and fled the scene, according to Redlands police.

Redlands police reported that Delgado, who is currently on probation for carjacking in Los Angeles County, was being held at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga on multiple felony charges, including carjacking, felony evasion, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance while armed.

The female suspect remains at large, and anyone with information is urged to contact Redlands Police Detectives R. Cordoba or J. Valdivia at (909) 798-7681.
