Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo Delivers Christmas Eve Message

Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo urged cautious and responsible celebration this weekend, but also optimism for the months ahead, in a Christmas Eve message delivered from his home via video on Thursday.

“It’s important to celebrate family, it’s important to celebrate the holidays, and it’s important to know that things will get better in 2021,” he said. “We’re in a very difficult time, but things will get better.”

“And they’ll get better because as Pasadenans, we’ll work together to look out for our families, to look out for our neighbors and to celebrate the holidays, but do it in a safe way,” Gordo said. “Let’s stay home. Let’s celebrate with one another. Call a friend, call a neighbor, check in with family, but again, let’s do it safely.”

“I want to celebrate with all of you next year when things are better, in person….and recall how we worked together to get through one of the toughest times — hopefully the toughest time— in the history of our city, our country and also the world,” the mayor said.
