Pasadena Police arrested a 44-year-old transient who fled after a stabbing incident near the 700 block of South Arroyo Parkway Monday morning.
Officers said Derrick K. Williams could be charged with assault with a deadly weapon against another transient. He is now being held at the Pasadena jail on a $30,000 bond.
Speaking with the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Pasadena police Lt. Mark Goodman said they found out about the incident at around 12:56 a.m. when staff at a drugstore in the area reported about someone had been stabbed.
Goodman said Williams and the other transient, 49 years old, had argued about a woman. When one of the men was walking away, the other allegedly came up behind him and stabbed him at least twice. The suspect then fled.
The victim was treated for stab wounds on the right side of the neck and behind the left ear and later released, police said.
Officers caught up with the suspect hours later at the Gold Line station on Fillmore.
