Homicide detectives on Wednesday released a sketch of a suspect who they are seeking in connection with the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man near Villa Parke in Pasadena in November.
Ernesto Ramos Jimenez, 27, was out for a walk near his home when he was gunned down in the 200 block of Parke Street just after 8 p.m. on Nov. 13, according to Pasadena police and Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner officials.
The killer or killers remain at large.
“Through their investigative efforts, Pasadena Police Department Robbery/Homicide Detectives have developed detailed information on the possible identity of one suspect,” police said in a written statement.
The suspect was described as a Black man, between 25 and 30 years old, with a dark complexion, standing between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 foot 1 inch tall and weighing about190 pounds.
The sketch was released a month after investigators released a description of a car believed to have been involved in the fatal attack. The vehicle was described by investigators as a 2012 or 2013 dark red or burgundy Mercedes-Benz. It had large chrome wheels, which were recessed into the wheel wells.
Jimenez suffered from a mental disability and had the mental capacity of a 12- or 13-year-old boy, according to his sister, Jesica Valdivia. She said he had no gang ties and couldn’t imagine why anyone would want to harm him.
Jimenez was wounded in another shooting near his home in 2015, officials said. That shooting also remains unsolved.
Anyone with information was urged to contact the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4241. Tips may also be submitted anonymously to L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
