A collaboration between the PUSD Community Advisory Committee, Special Education Dept.,  and the District is inviting all District families to attend the Committee’s first-ever resource fair on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event aims to connect families with a variety of community partners and service providers who will be available to answer questions and provide information about the supports available to all students in the District.

While the fair is open to all Pasadena Unified School District families, it will place a particular emphasis on supporting the growth and development of students with Individualized Education Plans.

The District’s event flyer states, “Hear about resources and information that would further support the growth and prepare students with Individualized Education Plans.”

Families attending the fair will have the opportunity to learn about a wide range of topics, including student services, advocacy, education, career options, social and emotional amenities, early childhood information, transition assistance, healthcare, and parent support.

Representatives from organizations such as the San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center, SoCal Resource Services for Independent Living, Pasadena Civitan, Pasadena Unified School District Workability, the Department of Rehabilitation, Parents’ Place Family Resource Center, Pacific Clinics, Foothill Family Services, the City of Pasadena Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health and the Club 21 Organization are expected to be present.

The resource fair, organized by the District’s Community Advisory Committee, will take place in the North parking lot of the Pasadena Unified School District Education Center, located at 351 S. Hudson Ave. in Pasadena. The District is asking families to register in advance.

Pasadena Unified School District serves approximately 14,500 students across 28 schools in Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre. The Community Advisory Committee, composed of parents, staff, and community members, advises the District on matters related to the Local Plan for Special Education.
