Pasadena’s 62-year-old Sears store has been quietly listed for lease, although the company has not provided any information on the fate of the department store.
The 211,000-square-foot retail box store that’s stood at 3801 E. Foothill Blvd, between Michillinda Avenue and Rosemead Boulevard, since 1958 has been listed as available to lease by the real estate services provider JLL.
But the immediate plans for the store remained unclear. The Pasadena location has already survived several rounds of Sears store closures in recent years.
The store is one of three Sears locations and 10 Kmart stores that have been listed for lease, the Los Angeles Times reported. Both chains are owned by the company Transformco.
The company declined to comment regarding whether the 13 stores were expected to be closed.
