Public health officials in Pasadena detected five new COVID-19 infections Wednesday but reported zero fatalities for the seventh day in a row.

All five of the new cases involved people under 65 years old, city spokeswoman Lisa Derderian said.

In all, 11,203 cases of the virus have been detected in the city, according to Pasadena Public Health Department data. The local death toll has remained at 340 since the city’s last reported death on April 15.

Pasadena’s number of average daily infections over the prior week inched up to 3, records show. It stood at 2.4 on Tuesday.

As the push to inoculate as many people as possible against the virus continued, roughly 100 community members received vaccinations at a Pasadena Public Health Department clinic health Wednesday at Madison Elementary School, officials said.

Additionally, city officials announced a series of upcoming “walk-in” vaccination clinics, where registration will be done on site. The clinics are open to all residents 18 and older and will be held on a first-come, first-served basis.

A list of the upcoming walk-in clinics, which will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays, is available online at cityofpasadena.net/event/vaccination-clinics-walk-in-only-registration-on-site/2021-04-27.

Vaccine appointments were being scheduled through the state website at myturn.ca.gov.

Residents without online access, or who need help making an appointment, can call the Pasadena Citizen Service Center for assistance Mondays through Fridays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at (626) 744-7311.
