The Pasadena Police Department plans to join in a nationwide crackdown on intoxicated drivers through the holidays, starting next week, officials said.
The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign in Pasadena starts Monday, Pasadena police said in a written statement. It will continue through New Year’s Day.
“[The] Pasadena Police Department will have officers on patrol looking for drivers suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs,” according to the statement.
“This year has been challenging and difficult on all of us,” Lt. Anthony Russo said. “The last thing we need is more heartbreak and tragedy. Make the right choice by not driving impaired so everyone can have a safe holiday.”
Funding for the campaign is being provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
