Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation Closes in on Grant Application Deadline

The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation is reminding local organizations that the deadline to apply for its 2024 grant program is fast approaching. Applications must be submitted by Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 5 p.m.

Since 1983, the Foundation has contributed over $5.5 million in grants to more than 700 organizations in the Pasadena area. In 2023, nearly $240,000 was awarded to 24 organizations in the San Gabriel Valley, supporting a wide range of programs for children, teens, adults, and seniors.

These programs included animal therapy for children with special needs, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) education for underserved students, and sports recreation for individuals with visual impairments.

For the 2024 grant cycle, the Foundation has structured its awards into three tiers: Tier 1 will offer one single-year grant of $35,000, Tier 2 will provide one single-year grant of $20,000, and Tier 3 will consist of multiple single-year grants of up to $10,000 each. Organizations receiving Tier 3 grants are eligible for three consecutive years of funding. Applicants are required to detail how their program will be delivered.

Eligible organizations must have 501(c)(3) status and serve one or more of the following communities: Alhambra, Altadena, Arcadia, La Cañada Flintridge, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Gabriel, San Marino, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena, and Temple City. Grants will be awarded in the categories of Visual and Performing Arts, Sports and Recreation, and Education, which includes Early Childhood Education, Literacy, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) programs.

The Foundation’s Board of Directors will select the final grant recipients at its annual spring meeting. Applicants will be notified of their funding status via email in April and early May 2024. A tentative reception to honor the grant recipients is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
