Published on Friday, January 24, 2014 | 2:36 pm

The Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) presents a free seminar for parents and school-age children on spotting and preventing bullying on campus and in cyberspace Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at Eliot Middle School, 2184 N. Lake Ave., Altadena.

Parents can learn how to help children understand the responsibilities of digital citizenship and strategies for preventing and addressing bullying.

Parents will hear from Tracy Webb, a senior trial attorney and director of cybercrime prevention and child protection for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. As a criminal prosecutor for more than 25 years, Webb provides valuable information and strategies for children and parents on safe and responsible digital citizenship, especially important as the use of hand-held internet devices by youths has risen dramatically.

Presenting on PUSD’s anti-bullying policy and programs will be Eric Sahakian, the district’s director of Child Welfare, Attendance and Safety.

The Bullying and Cyber-Bullying Prevention parent education seminar is presented by PUSD’s Family Resource Center, which supports parents and staff in building partnerships for student achievement.
