A day after the Tournament of Roses Announced the cancellation of the 2021 Rose Parade due to the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers of the 43rd Occasional Doo Dah Parade said the annual display put on by Pasadena’s most eccentric artists will be moving to an online format in November.
But as far as what exactly the annual celebration of the absurd planned for Nov. 22 will look like remains anybody’s guess, according to Tom Coston, Executive Director of the event’s nonprofit host, the Light Bringer Project.
“This becomes a great opportunity to time capsule Doo Dah into the universe!” he said. “It’s not just going to be pictures of people in funny hats, but what it will be — isgoing to surprise us as much as you.
“Imagine: ‘Housewives of …Moscow,’” Coston said.
Instead of lining Colorado Boulevard, Doo Dah aficionados will be able to observe, well, whatever is to come via the Doo Dah Parade’s website at pasadenadoodahparade.info/, where additional details were expected to be posted as they become available, according to organizers.
