Pasadena City College football head coach Fred Fimbres announced five more Lancers have earned university scholarships as the squad’s 2013 transfer class increased to 18 players. It is PCC’s largest class since 2004. [Editor’s note: One player was added to the list and another had an incorrect listing of his transfer university in the original release.

Sophomore defensive lineman Gus Ferrat (Burbank Burroughs High) has signed with NCAA Division I Nicholls State University (Louisiana). Ferrat totaled 33 tackles, two sacks, a forced and recovered fumble, and an interception in two seasons.

Starting offensive lineman Manuel Matiarena (Salesian High) is moving on to D-1 Old Dominion University (Virginia).

Wide receiver Joshua Hayden (Eastern High, Kentucky) will attend NAIA Waldorf College (Iowa). In 2013, Hayden led the Lancers in highest kick return average at 27.9 yards in seven returns and added five receptions.

Wide receiver Lucious Hinton (Central High, Florida) will attend Division II Tiffin University (Ohio). Hinton made six receptions for 53 yards and scored a touchdown for the ’13 Lancers.

Defensive/offensive lineman Cedric Craine (Canyon Creek Christian High, Texas) signed with Livingstone College (North Carolina), a D-II university.
