The Pasadena Police Department says a 78-year-old local man who was reported missing six days ago has been found in a Pico Rivera care facility. Neither the man nor the facility was aware that he had been the subject of a search, police said.
The man, identified by police as Michael P. Loretta, was visited by his family on Monday and his missing status has been cancelled, authorities report.
Loretta had last seen by a family member at his apartment on in the 500 block of East Villa Street on Wednesday January 5, 2011 at about 1:30 pm. After family members called police to say a meal delivery service could not rouse anyone at his address, officers searched Loretta’s apartment and the surrounding area but did not locate Loretta.
Loretta apparently checked himself into the care facility.
