Pasadena Police arrested a man on early Sunday morning for violating a restraining order but not before a brief confrontation.

According to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Tim Bundy, officers responded to a call of a reported restraining order violation at 6:50 a.m. in the 2000 block of Newport Avenue.

The woman who called police alleged the man restrained under the order was sitting in his vehicle in front of her residence.

Bundt said the victim told police the man was Danarrius Woodson, 44, and said he had been at the property since the previous day acting erratically and going onto the property.

She told police she did not feel safe enough to return home, Bundy said.

Officers arrived and found Woodson sitting in his vehicle. He initially spoke with officers, but when asked to exit his vehicle, Bundy said Woodson instead he rolled up his window, started the car, and repeatedly revved the engine while yelling at officers.

Officers were eventually able to successfully deescalate the situation and convince Woodson to turn off the car and ultimately get out of the vehicle, according to Bundy.

He was then arrested without incident for violating the restraining order.

Woodson was being held at the Pasadena City Jail on $50,000 bail. He was scheduled to appear in court on May 17.

No one was injured in the incident.
