The Pasadena Police Department confirmed Friday confirmed several stolen items have been returned to the University of Colorado football players who were victims of theft during last Saturday’s game against UCLA at the Rose Bowl.
Jewelry and other personal items were stolen from the Rose Bowl locker room.
Police said the suspects in the case are juveniles. In a statement, City spokesperson Lisa Derderian said additional items of interest have been identified and are actively being pursued.
The thefts were first reported shortly after the game when players were overheard discussing the incident. The City later confirmed the reports of thefts of jewelry and other items from the locker room.
“The Pasadena Police Department was notified of a theft that took place in the University of Colorado locker room during the UCLA vs. Colorado football game at the Rose Bowl,” said Lt. Tim Bundy the following Monday.
The investigation is being conducted in collaboration with UCLA, which separately confirmed it is in communication with law enforcement, Rose Bowl Stadium officials, and the University of Colorado on the matter.
On Friday Derderian said that search warrants have been executed and additional information will be provided as the investigation progresses.
The Pasadena Police Department expressed gratitude to those who reported leads to their tip line, stating that the information and support are invaluable and play a crucial role in ensuring safety and security in the community.
The investigation is ongoing and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
“We recognize this incident has received national media attention and we wanted to provide an update,” Derderian said.
