State Sen. Anthony Portantino (D-La Canada Flintridge) plans to unveil details of a $500 million small business relief effort in two Zoom meetings planned for Tuesday, one in English and the other in Armenian.

The first meeting in English will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at https://bit.ly/3n3l0Vb Passcode: 326122.

The second meeting in Armenian will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at https://bit.ly/3n2sZBN Passcode: 013204.

“This is too important of a grant program to not offer small business owners in my district an overview of the program and to have their questions answered,” Portantino said in a prepared statement.

“Far too many are suffering during this pandemic.  I’m pleased that California is offering $500 million in relief,” he said.

Joining Portatino at the virtual press conference announcing the California Small Business Covid-19 Relief Grant Program will be representatives from Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Office of Business Development. The program was formally launched before Christmas.

The deadline for submitting grant applications is Jan. 13 at 11:59 p.m.

Topics of discussion at Tuesday’s meeting will be grant eligibility requirements, what the funding can be used for, and the documents needed to apply.

Both Webinars can also be viewed on Portantino’s website, http://sd25.senate.ca.gov.
