A pregnant woman and two children were temporarily homeless due to a vehicle fire inside a carport that inflicted smoke damage to a nearby apartment unit.

Firefighters dispatched at 4:50 p.m. Monday to the 900 block of North Lake Ave. quickly had the blaze out, said Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department.

There was no extension of the fire into any nearby structures, she said.

Derderian said the displaced people stayed with family, and did not request assistance with house. No injuries were reported during the fire and a cause of the fire was under investigation but was thought to be electrical.
