A planned BTS concert at the Rose Bowl that was already postponed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic has reportedly been cancelled, along with the bands entire tour, amid renewed concerns over the spread of the virus’ Delta variant, the stadium has confirmed.

The popular boy band has called off its “Map of the Soul” tour, CNN reported Friday, citing a statement posted on the fan platform Weverse.

“Our company has worked hard to resume preparations for the BTS Map of the Soul Tour, knowing that all fans have been waiting eagerly and long for the tour,” according to the statement. “Due to changing circumstances beyond our control, it has become difficult to resume performances at the same scale and timeline as previously planned.”

Rose Bowl spokeswoman Meredith Thomas confirmed the BTS concert plans in Pasadena had been cancelled.

The band had previously been scheduled to perform at the Rose Bowl in May of 2020 in a highly anticipated show, but that show was postponed indefinitely, along with other appearances, due to the pandemic.
