Private security officers employed by the Pasadena Unified School District caught and detained two suspects – a man and a woman – who were allegedly stealing items inside PUSD’s maintenance yard Monday night.
Pasadena Police Lt. Mark Goodman said the burglary occurred at about 11:31 p.m. at the maintenance yard located at 740 W. Woodbury Road in Pasadena.
“The suspects entered the location while it was closed,” said Goodman. “While inside the maintenance yard, they activated a motion-sensor equipped surveillance camera, and they were seen stealing items and putting them in a bag.”
Goodman said private security officers in the yard chanced upon the suspects as the officers were doing a walkthrough of the facility, and detained the suspects without incident.
“The police department responded and the suspects were ultimately arrested for commercial burglary,” Goodman added.
Goodman also identified the suspects as Juan Marquez, 32 years old, and Rosalina Fernandez, 24, both of whom are from Pasadena.
Both suspects are now in custody, Goodman said.
