Just 15 months after taking the job, Pasadena Water and Power General Manager Sidney Jackson has resigned from his position.

According to an online article, Minnesota-based Connexus Energy has hired Jackson as its new chief executive officer.

Jackson will begin his new role on March 11.

The announcement was made on X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday.

“I am honored to join Connexus Energy at such an exciting time for the utility,” said Jackson. “Connexus Energy has earned an extraordinary local and national reputation. I’m pleased to both lead and support the executive team and all Connexus employees in service to our members and vibrant North metro communities.”

According to the article, Connexus Energy Board selected Jackson following an extensive national search.

Jackson came to Pasadena from Austin Energy.

He previously served as the chief operations officer at Rochester Public Utility. He led operations of both the electric and water utilities.

Pasadena Now has reached out to the City Manager’s office for information on the search to replace Jackson.

We will update this story as information becomes available.
