Rainy Days Ahead Predicted Late This Week, All Through the Weekend

The National Weather Service says other than a very isolated patch of stratus clouds here and there, skies over Pasadena will be mostly clear through Wednesday, but after that get ready gloomier days with possible rain straight through the end of the weekend.

Tuesday’s highs will be around 88 and lows near 62, with winds from the southwest at five to 10 miles per hour becoming northeast after midnight.

Northeast winds on Wednesday could reach low-end advisory levels across the windier sections of Los Angeles County.

Temperatures will be well above normal with Wednesday being the warmest day – a high near 90, and low around 59.

On Thursday, the weather is expected to take a noticeable and dramatic turn to cooler and more unsettled conditions.

“As the upper low approaches from the southwest, mostly cloudy conditions are anticipated along with the increasing chances of showers,” an NWS Forecast Discussion predicts. “Early estimates of rainfall totals through Thursday evening are one inch or less, with the highest totals likely over the San Gabriel Mountains.”

Thursday’s rain chance is 20 percent, and Pasadenans could expect temperatures cooling down from 10 to 20 degrees – a high near 73 and low around 56.

By Thursday, a 40 percent chance of showers is predicted over Pasadena.

Friday to Sunday could be rainy as the upper low prevails. The first low could exit the area Friday, but this will be followed by a more significant low which brings more cloudiness and showers in the area.

Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68.
