A minor traffic maneuver by a local woman driving down North Ramond Avenue Sunday night led to a shooting by a passenger in another car.

Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins said the victim had just left her home at about 8:15 p.m. and drove south, behind another car traveling down the street. Provoked for unknown reasons, the victim honked and passed the other car.

When she arrived at the intersection of Raymond Avenue with East Hammond Street the other car came up alongside her on the driver’s side.

The suspect vehicle may have briefly blocked or partially blocked the victim’s car, according to messages to Pasadena Now.

“So basically the same thing she did, it was now passing the victim vehicle,” Dawkins said, when “the rear passenger on the suspect vehicle stuck his arm out of the window and then fired two rounds and hit the victim vehicle.”

The victim was not struck by either of the bullets but suffered facial injuries from flying glass, he said.

She provided police with only a “meager” description of her attackers, Dawkins said: a four door sedan containing at least two Hispanic men.

The victim was transported by Pasadena Fire dept. Paramedics to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.
