Robbers Take $250 from Altadena Man

A 26-year-old man from Altadena lost $250 to three strong-arm robbery suspects past just noon Tuesday near the 3600 block of East Foothill Blvd. in Pasadena.

The victim was at a gas station in the area when the suspects approached him and borrowed a quarter to play an unspecified coin game.

Pasadena Police Lt. John Luna said the victim obliged and gave the quarter, but refused to join the game when the suspects asked him to.

“The suspects advised the victim to join in the game at which time the victim refuses and tells the suspects he does not need to play because he has money,” Luna said. “The victim showed the suspects the money in his wallet, the $250, and one of the suspects forcibly removes the victim’s money from his wallet and they fled from the location on foot.”

Police received the report about the incident at about 12:53 p.m. Officers who arrived on scene checked the area but were not able to locate the suspects.

Luna said the victim gave officers a description of the three suspects, whom police are now searching for.

“The first suspect described as Hispanic male, 45 to 50, 6 feet, 200 lbs., with a gray moustache, short hair, tan t-shirt and white dress pants,” Luna said. “The second suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 6 feet, 175 to 180 lbs., gray short hair, gray moustache and a long sleeves t-shirt gray in color. And then the third suspect is a Hispanic male, 30-35, 5 foot 5 inches, dark complexion, shaved head, clean shaven, wearing a white t-shirt with a red print and dark colored pants.”

The victim did not suffer any injury during the incident.
