Pasadena’s top burger joint Slater’s 50/50 has introduced its January burger called the Bloody Mary Burger, which is touted as a good remedy for the holiday hangover.

Owner Scott Slater said, “Before you commit to hopping on the treadmill, cure your hangover with Slater’s 50/50 Bloody Mary Burger.”

He went on to say, “The Bloody Mary Burger combines all of your favorite Bloody Mary spices and flavors, including Worcestershire and Tabasco, mixed in a Sterling Silver Ground Beef patty for the perfect hangover cure. It’s topped with Grilled Tomatoes, Garlic Stuffed Olive Tapenade and smothered in Bacon Vodka Sauce all on our Bacon Pretzel Bun, stabbed with a Celery Stalk.”

The Bloody Mary Burger is available starting January 1st at all four Slater’s 50/50 locations – Huntington Beach, Anaheim Hills, San Diego and Pasadena.

Slater’s 50/50 is the biggest and baddest bite of bacon across the Southland. Named for Scott Slater’s signature half-beef, half-bacon burger patty, Slater’s 50/50 is known across the country for offering completely bonkers burgers, big selections of craft brews, and dedication to good-times all around in Southern California. Slater’s 50/50 locations include Anaheim Hills, Huntington Beach, San Diego, and now Pasadena. Slater’s 50/50’s 5th location in Lake Forest is set to open in February 2013.

The signature 50/50 patty, 50% ground beef and 50% ground bacon, is the inspiration and star of Slater’s 50/50. Signature items start off with the namesake 50/50 signature patty topped with a sunny side up egg, avocado mash, pepper jack cheese and chipotle adobo mayo on white brioche; the Peanut Butter and Jellousy burger with thick-cut bacon, creamy peanut butter and strawberry jelly; and of course the B’ B’ B’ Bacon Burger, a 50/50 patty with bacon American cheese, sunny side up egg, thick cut bacon and bacon island dressing on a bacon pretzel bun.

The Design it! Menu gives guests the ability to design their own gourmet hamburger with seven meat options, four breads, 12 cheeses, 30+ toppings and 20 sauces. For those less burger minded, the Fried Chicken and Pancakes with house-made-bacon-infused-country-gravy, two strips of thick cut bacon and a fried egg smothered in real maple syrup is a real treat, among numerous salads, appetizers and desserts. Don’t forget to finish off with 50/50’s Famous “Bacon” Brownie.

Slater’s 50/50 takes its suds seriously – all of their servers and bartenders are Cicerone Certified and Slater’s 50/50 offers more than 100 craft beers on draft, with an emphasis on local Southern California breweries. Alongside the brews, Slater’s 50/50 also offers a selection beer cocktails, house wines and an extensive list of delicious original libations.

Slater’s 50/50 was founded by longtime bacon-lover and San Diego State University graduate Scott Slater. He got his start in the restaurant industry through a successful and lucrative string of hot dog stands, feeding hungry contractors outside Home Depot stores. After four years of success, with hot dog stand profits suffering from the housing market crash, Slater took the plunge and sold his company to embark on a new venture: Slater’s 50/50. Named for his signature tailgate patty made from 50% bacon and 50% beef, Slater’s 50/50 has expanded to four locations and is taking the Southern California region by storm.
