SoCal Gas Prices Continue Creeping Higher

Published on Friday, July 31, 2020 | 8:40 am

Prices at the pump in Pasadena saw levels not seen since late-March on Friday as the cost of gas continued inching upward, according to AAA data.

While reduced demand blamed on the pandemic has kept gasoline prices well below average in recent months, the price has increased on nine of the past 10 days, including a sixth-tenths of a cent bump on Friday, data from AAA and Oil Price Information Service shows.

At $3.18 per gallon of regular gas, the price at the pump in the Los Angeles area on Friday had risen by 4.9 cents over the previous 10 days, and 10.5 cents over the past month.

But that’s it was still 52.2 cents less than the average price for a gallon at this time last year.
