A ticket with five correct numbers but missing the Powerball number worth $1.3 million was sold at a Chevron gas station on Mission Street in South Pasadena, the Multi-State Lottery Association Wednesday evening.
Tickets with all six numbers in Wednesday evening’s multi-state Powerball lottery were sold in a convenience store in Sacramento and in Wisconsin. The players will have the choice between receiving the $316.3 million jackpot in 30 graduated payments over 29 years or a lump sum payment of $225.1 million.
The numbers drawn Wednesday were 6, 14, 25, 33, 46 and the Powerball number was 17.
The drawing was the 40th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.
California law requires major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis.
There were 14 tickets sold with five numbers. Two of the tickets with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, are worth $2 million because the players utilized the Power Play option, where for an additional $1 per play, a ticket with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, is worth $2 million.
The $632.6 million jackpot was seventh largest in Powerball’s 29-year history and 11th largest in U.S. lottery history.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is 1 in 292.2 million, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.9.
The Powerball game is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.
The jackpot for Saturday’s drawing will be $20 million.
