Spring Head Academy to Hold Project-based Learning Workshops

Spring Ahead Academy, an entrepreneurship training school based in Pasadena, is offering three more learning events this month to upgrade skills in sales, professional networking and social media.

With these events, the Academy launches a new project-based curriculum designed “to bridge the gap between knowledge and action,” according to Jennifer Hanson, Spring Ahead Academy Founder and CEO.

“The college system expects that students can figure out how to apply academic concepts to the real world without any help. Research has shown that project-based learning successfully delivers against the gap, but we take it one step further and have entrepreneurs build their own businesses in the classroom,” Hanson said.

The school said their classes are in a more “user-friendly” format, affordable and deliver topics for an entrepreneur at any stage of design or development.

Spring Ahead Academy’s classes cover a wide range of topics from marketing, operations, finance, social media, international business, sales, website development and change management. Each course is delivered by college professors who are industry experts and have a wealth of experience in the academe.

The formats range from 4-week classes held twice a week for two hours per session to one-day seminars positioned as thought starters for future students.

This Thursday, July 9th, Rob Edenzon, CEO of Sales Clinic, leads a roundtable discussion on the key indicators to watch out for and the questions to ask to avoid situations that lead to both short and long term sales nightmares. The roundtable is part of a regular HNTGSIB (that’s How Not To Get Screwed in Business) meetup that Spring Ahead has been hosting for some time.

The free meetup starts at 6:30 p.m. at Cross Campus Pasadena, at 85 N Raymond Avenue.

On Monday, July 13th, entrepreneurs can learn more about using social media as a marketing arm as a four-week Social Media Training Course starts, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Flintridge Center, 236 W Mountain Street. Spring Ahead says this is a hands-on course where participants are expected to be able to create an optimized social media plan to drive awareness and expand their customer base.

The July 30th event is a Kickstarter Seminar for new entrepreneurs, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Cross Campus Pasadena.

Spring Ahead Academy also works with local non-profits to help them build project-based learning curriculums for their own community of learners.

“The education system is broken for entrepreneurs. We are helping to fix it and build a stronger economy driven by small businesses,” said Jennifer Hanson, “and we’ve already seen our students succeed.”
