SummerHill Opens 105-Unit Apartment Complex

SummerHill Apartment Communities has opened Theo, a new 105-unit multifamily community at 289 N. El Molino Ave. in Pasadena.

The management team, Alliance Residential, is now offering virtual leasing tours during the COVID-19 outbreak.

KTGY Architects worked with the developer, as well as Pasadena Heritage and the city’s Design Commission, on a structure that addresses its historic surroundings in Old Town Pasadena, while achieving a sleek Modernist design.

Natural and historic components figure into the six-story project’s design that has views of the San Gabriel Mountains and Lukens House, said in a report in real estate news outlet Connect California said.

“Rather than compete with the ornate features of this classic residence, Theo offers a clean, simple, Modernist counterpart with outdoor spaces that overlook and embrace the Lukens House,” Keith McCloskey, associate principal at KTGY, said.

An open-air observation room directly faces the Theodore Parker Lukens House, one of the oldest standing in Pasadena, which is right beside Theo. Theo’s structure features landscaped rooftop amenity spaces, pool and spa area, cabana terrace, lobby courtyard, outdoor kitchen and dining, and dog-wash area.

Other features include a cyber cafe, a fitness center, clubhouse, and eight outdoor/rooftop terraces.
