A suspect wanted by Pasadena City College police for stealing a car who earlier managed to escape a California Highway Patrol pursuit was seen, chased, cornered and caught by Pasadena Police Special Enforcement Section officers about 10:50 p.m. Thursday.

Carl Henderson, 25, of Pasadena, fled and hid when police gave chase, Lt. John Mercado said.

The suspect was found near West Mountain Street and Sunset Avenue and arrested without further incident, Mercado said.

PCC Police Sgt. Bill Abernathie said the suspect allegedly stole a car from a college parking lot last week.

Later, CHP officers saw the suspect driving the car and gave chase, only to lose him. The stolen car was found in Glendale with Henderson’s personal property inside, Abernathie said.

Henderson was booked by Pasadena police for grand theft auto.
