Taiwan’s iconic Hot Star Large Fried Chicken has a new home in Pasadena. This is their third location in the United States and fourth in North America. Hot Star Pasadena opened mid-April.

They’re known for their 30 centimeter juicy fried chicken which comes served in a plastic bag for on-the-go eating. Hot Star’s chicken is served bone-in and comes in Mild, Medium or Spicy. This street food style dish originated at the Shilin Night Market in Taipei, Taiwan in 1992 and has become a popular item throughout Asia.

Hot Star Pasadena also offers an assortment of traditional fried snacks like crispy Lotus Chips and Sweet Potato Fries with Plum Dust. These slightly sweet and salty fries are the ideal companion to the Fried Chicken. Pair your meal with a Green Tea with Popping Boba or classic Boba Milk Tea.

This fast casual restaurant is Hot Star’s first sit-down location in the United States. Owner, Winson Huo, anticipates this will be a destination for college students and local business workers. Hot Star is currently working to develop an ordering app and also plans to open a food truck in the coming year.

Hot Star Pasadena is located at 950 East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena. Call (213)748 -8866 or visit http://hotstarus.com/?lang=en.
