The $938,000 Reconstruction of Allendale and Memorial Parks Restrooms are Now Complete

The reconstruction of Allendale and Memorial Parks restrooms worth $938,000 has been completed and the facilities are now open to the public.

The Department of Public Works said the reconstruction project which began in October last year and was completed this month includes the demolition of the old restroom buildings in the two parks and the reconstruction of new ones.

The project also covered the removal of existing asphalt and concrete paving, construction of restrooms for persons with disabilities, installation of enhanced ventilation and energy efficient lighting in restroom buildings, improvements on concrete walkways and amenities, and installation of new irrigation system and landscaping adjacent to restroom buildings.

The Allendale Park building also includes storage areas for Little League and the Departments of Human Services and Recreation, and Public Works.

The Department of Public Works said Monet Construction, Inc., was contracted by the City for the project construction.

The restroom rebuilding is part of the city’s FY 2014-2018 Capital Improvement Program, a five-year plan aimed at improving Pasadena’s public infrastructure.
