There was an Election Update Yesterday

Despite the rapidly changing situation on the COVID-19 virus, Pasadena Now is still reporting local election updates.

The LA County Registrar updated election results on Tuesday.

Victor Gordo still leads incumbent Mayor Terry Tornek with 46.56 percent of the vote (18,402 votes). Tornek trails by almost exactly five percent at 41.57 percent (16,429). Major Williams and Jason Hardin trail far behind with 8.42 and 3.46 percent of the vote respectively.

In City Council races, Felicia Williams increased her led over Tricia Keane. Williams now has 53 percent of the vote (2,893). Keane has 27.10 percent of the vote (1,479). Bo Patatian and Kevin Litwin have 12 percent and 7.90 percent of the vote.

“I want to say thank you to the voters in District 2 and for the support I received citywide,” Williams said. “This race started more than 10 years ago when I got involved in the city and my neighborhood. I found that I truly loved the work – using my relationships from growing up in Pasadena and professional experience to shape city policy and solve problems. Meeting my neighbors was also fun! Now the voters have given me a chance and I hope to earn their trust by listening to their concerns and making thoughtful decisions for the greater good. Everybody please stay safe and healthy.”

Incumbents Steve Madison and Gene Masuda continue to lead by wide margins.

The results will be updated on Friday. Most likely that will be the final update. There are only 64,000 votes left from across the county to count.

That includes 20,000 conditional voter registration ballots. 10,000 provisional ballots, 25,000 mail in ballots and 9,000 miscellaneous ballots.

In total, it has taken the city more than two weeks to count the ballots from the election.
