At the Universal Hilton shortly before the Holidays the Director General of Taiwan Tourism Bureau, Ms. Janice Lai, arrived from Taiwan to discuss what 2012 holds in store for visitors to Taiwan.
She spoke to a captivated audience of travel journalists about the various tours that visitors to Taiwan could expect. Ecotourism, foodie trips and romantic vacations were just a few of the many possibilities for travel in the beautiful “Heart of Asia.†Ms. Lai also mentioned the many wonderful sights in Taiwan, such as its National Park System and Bicycle Tours along with upcoming events, like the Chinese New Year festivities and Taiwan’s Lantern Festival.
Jannelle So of LA 18 TV hosted the evening. Comedian/actor Rob Schneider and his new wife Patricia where also on hand. They spent their honeymoon in Taiwan
and it is one of Rob’s favorite places. He especially loved learning about tea making in the tea gardens of Taiwan. He and Patricia spoke of exploring the Night Markets for shopping and their love of the cuisine.
Guests were also treated to an elaborate 10 course meal which included delicacies like exotic mushrooms, octopus, succulent lobster, luscious noodles and fresh fruit.
