Warm sunny days will be on hold for the end of the workweek as clouds and rain sweep in for a two-day stint, National Weather Service Service forecasters predicted.
But the weekend, they said, will spring back to clear, warm and sunny weather.
For now, a gradual cooling trend will continue through Thursday as onshore flow strengthens ahead of a low-pressure system. The low-pressure system will bring an increasing chance of showers and breezy conditions Thursday into Friday.
A significant warming trend remains in the forecast across the area this weekend into early next week as an upper-level ridge of high-pressure noses into the region between Saturday and Monday.
Temperatures in the 80s are expected for the first half of next week, they said.
