Police arrested an alleged cocaine dealer after pulling over his car for a traffic violation in Pasadena early Monday, officials said.
Officers stopped a car for a traffic violation about 2:50 a.m. at Altadena Drive and Maple Street, Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins said.
The officers immediately noticed an open container of alcohol, leading to further investigation, he said.
A search of the vehicle turned up “a significant amount” of cocaine, which was packaged in multiple baggies, according to the lieutenant.
The Los Angeles man at the wheel of the car was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs for sales, he said. The suspect’s identity was not released Monday pending additional investigation.
