Two Drive By Shootings Tuesday and Wednesday — Close Calls, But No Injuries

Published on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 | 8:55 am

Pasadena police say two separate drive-by shootings into occupied homes and apartments shattered Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

In the first, a gunman pumped handgun rounds into the occupied garage of a residence containing 7 people, aged 7 to 47 years old. That incident occurred just after 10 p.m. in the 2600 block of Windsor Avenue.

Police Lt. Kelly Evans said the suspect, a black man in his 20’s dressed in a dark hoody, pulled up near the driveway, got out of his car and fired numerous rounds towards the garage before jumping back into the car and speeding away.

Responding officers discovered bullet strikes in two vehicles and the garage structure. No injuries were reported.

Evans said the incident could possibly be gang-related.

Two and a half hours later at 12:53 a.m.a similar shooting occurred in the 1900 block of Lincoln Avenue across the street from John Muir High School, Evans said.

In that second case, the shooter followed a similar m.o. and “exited his vehicle” before firing shots into two occupied apartment units.

Inside, three people, including a 16-year old boy and his father, narrowly escaped injury.

Again, the shooter fled by car. There is no substantial descrip[tiomn of the suspect, other than his car was a dark late model compact.

The second shooting, like the first, is possibly gang-related, Evans said.

In both shootings, the suspect or suspects remain unknown and at large.
