Two Good Samaritans ended up in the spotlight of the Pasadena Police helicopter Tuesday morning when a caller reported they were breaking into a car in a motel parking lot about 2 a.m.
Responding police quickly determined the pair were simply trying to help the car’s owner retrieve the keys she had locked inside, said Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema.
Due to a number or recent break-ins, Hettema said, the Department responded to the call with the helicopter and number of patrol units, arousing the interest of a number residents in the area.
“The chopper is flying very low circles, and barking out commands in English and Spanish to, “Surrender now, you cannot hide.” And it looks like a lot of police vehicles, because there is a ton of blue lights flashing,” one local wrote on social media.
The incident occurred in the 2000 block of East Colorado Boulevard. There were no arrests, Hettema said.
