Pasadena police arrested two men on weapons-related charges after responding to a gunshot heard in Washington Park early Saturday morning.
The suspects were identified by police as Gerald Vaughn, 49, and Clydell Bryant, 40, both Pasadena residents. Bryant sustained a leg injury during his attempt to flee from the officers and was taken to a hospital for treatment before being booked, authorities said.
According to Pasadena Lt. Derek Locklin, officers came to the scene at about 12:34 a.m. because they heard a gunshot. Upon arrival, a group of men in the park fled and the suspects were later caught.
According to Locklin, officers found firearms near where Vaughn and Bryant had been standing when police arrived at the park.
Authorities used an airship to assist the ground search for other possible suspects or evidence.
