Police say that two men walking in alley were robbed at gunpoint but escaped uninjured Wednesday night about 6:44 p.m.
The two men, one 40 years of age and a Pasadena resident along with a 21 year old man whose city of residence is unknown, were walking in Herr Alley near the 100 block of Palmetto Drive when they were accosted by a man brandishing a semi-automatic handgun, authorities said.
The gunman was described by the victims as being a Latino man in his late twenties who stands about 5’8″ and weighs about 160 to 175 pounds. The suspect was shaved bald and his arms and neck were covered with tattoos. He was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jean shorts, police said, and was carrying a black backpack.
The gunman demanded the victims hand over the gold chains each wore around his neck. In fear for their lives, Pasadena Police Lt. John Luna said, both men complied.
The suspect fled on foot through the alley and westbound on Waverly Street out of sight. Responding officers were unable to locate him.
Neither victim was injured, Luna said.
