Pasadena City College women’s volleyball players Kendra Logan, a two-time All-South Coast Conference First Team middle blocker, and Samantha Flores, an All-SCC Second Team libero, are moving on to the next level.

Logan signed her scholarship letter of intent to attend NAIA Xavier University of Louisiana. Logan will play for a program that has won five consecutive Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) titles.

Flores committed to Talladega College in Alabama, also a NAIA college and a member of the GCAC.

Both years Logan (Maranatha High) played resulted in SoCal Regional Playoff appearances for the Lancers. In 2013, the Lancers reached the second round of the SoCal Playoffs when current head coach Kari Post was a first-year assistant at PCC. Last season, PCC reached the SoCal Playoffs again as Logan led the conference in blocks (88, 1.1 average), averaged 2.14 attack kills and hit a team-best .349.

Originally from Hoover High/Glendale, Flores averaged 4.41 digs per set (331 overall), the second highest average ever by a PCC defensive player.

“It’s a great opportunity for the two to experience competitive volleyball and further their education,” Post said. “Kendra was a special player, one of the better middles in the state. Sam was a very steady defensive player for us and both of them will be missed.”
