Union Station Homeless Services has issued an urgent appeal for meal ingredients and supplies to provide Thanksgiving meals to its clients. The organization is appealing to the public to help with donations.
For over 50 years, Union Station Homeless Services has celebrated Thanksgiving by serving delicious hot meals to thousands of people in need or experiencing homelessness.
In previous years, the organization would host a traditional Thanksgiving dinner served by volunteers in Central Park. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the organization has adapted And now hosts two separate meal services, one on Nov. 15 as a meals-to-pick up service and the other as a sitdown dinner served at Union Station facilities on Dec. 22.
This week, the organization said it urgently needs:

340 boxes of instant mashed potatoes

245 packs of rolls

510 gravy packets

250 pumpkin pies

340 bags of fried onions

211 turkeys
Union Station has expressed that whether supporters shop directly from their Amazon or Target wish lists, or host a food drive among friends and family, all contributions are greatly appreciated.
