On Tuesday, Dec 6, Pasadenans will get a rare opportunity to hear the thinking behind key decisions that shape the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl Game.

This year, with College Football Playoff negotiations just completed, the annual Pasadena Chamber of Commerce President’s Breakfast comes a unique moment in the history of the treasured Pasadena traditions.

Tournament of Roses Association President Amy Wainscott is the keynote speaker.

The Chamber of Commerce President’s Breakfast provides insight into the thinking behind the 2023 events, the challenges of producing the parade and game and a window on President Amy Wainscott’s thinking and experience that can not be found at any other event in Pasadena,” Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Paul Little said.

Little added that this year’s President’s breakfast will be different from others in the past and attendees can expect a peek inside Wainscott’s decisions such as the Rose Parade theme for 2023, Turning the Corner, and her choice of Gabby Giffords as Grand Marshall.

“This year is different for several reasons: Amy Wainscott’s experience and perspective are unique. Hearing her perspective about her experiences as lockdowns and quarantines were ending will be unique and we have a chance to hear how she made certain decisions, such as the theme, Turning the Corner and the choice of Gabby Giffords as Grand Marshall,” he said.

Little said that Rose Queen Bella Ballard and the Royal Court Princess are slated to be in attendance.

Tickets to the President’s Breakfast are $75 each. As of Sunday, some tickets remained available. Anyone who wants to attend needs to call the Chamber office before the end of business on Monday, according to Little.

Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Hilton Pasadena on Tuesday, December 6, followed by a festive celebratory program.
