University Club of Pasadena Education Foundation to Announce Scholarship Recipients at 2nd Annual ‘Friendraiser’

The University Club of Pasadena Education Foundation (UCPEF) announced plans to host its Second Annual Friendraiser on Sunday, Sept. 24, at the historic Blinn House in Pasadena, across the street from the University Club.

During the event, two deserving Pasadena City College students will be recognized as recipients of this year’s scholarships. They will be receiving $5,000 that they can use to advance their education at four-year institutions.

The Friendraiser, from 4 to 6 p.m., aims to raise awareness about the impact of scholarships on the lives of Pasadena City College students and provide an opportunity for guests to socialize and learn more about the foundation’s mission. Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo will be the keynote speaker.

This is the second year in a row that UCPEF is awarding the $5,000 scholarships to PCC students. Last year, the scholarships went to Tiana Le, who’s now studying health administration at USC, and Jacob Lau, who’s taking film studies also at USC.

The University Club of Pasadena, founded over a century ago, has always prioritized the advancement of higher education. In 2019, the University Club established the UCPEF to support this objective.

Hosted cocktails and appetizers will be available for guests as they connect with friends and learn more about the positive impact of the Foundation’s mission on PCC students’ lives.

The University Club of Pasadena is currently under reconstruction following a fire that occurred on July 8, so the Friendraiser will take place at the Blinn House, which is across the street.
