Pasadena Unified School Board President Patrick Cahalan and Tina Wu Fredericks appeared headed to victories in PUSD Board Districts 4 and 6, while in District 2 Jennifer Hall Lee declared victory Tuesday evening.
Lee said she had won after garnering 48% of the vote (4,267), defeating realtor Mike Crowley and attorney Wayne Hammack.
“I am declaring victory in my PUSD School Board race,” Hall said, in a brief statement and email to Pasadena Now about a hour after the polls closed Tuesday. “I thank the people who voted for me and supported me. I won’t let you down,” She said.
In District 4, incumbent PUSD Board President Patrick Cahalan has a commanding lead over Scott Harden as of 12:21 a.m. Wednesday morning. Cahalan has 65.38% of the vote, and 5,066 votes, compared to Harden with 34.62% of the votes, and 2,683 votes.
Tina Wu Fredericks is also leading in the District 6 race, with 4,055 votes and 37.41% of the votes, with Priscilla Hernandez at 3,010 votes and 27.77% of the votes. Crystal Czubernat is in third place, with 26.37 % of the votes, at 2,859.
Milena Albert is in fourth place with 916 votes, for 8.45 percent of the votes cast so far.
The PUSD School race is a plurality vote, with the candidate garnering the most total votes winning. A 50% majority is not necessary.
