South Pasadena police were unable to find the primary suspect who made his way into a South Pasadena home Thursday, but were able to arrest one of two nearby suspects walking about a block away from the attempted burglary.

The residential burglary occurred about 3 a.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of Kolle Avenue, said South Pasadena police detective Richard Lee.

Lee said the suspect entered through an unlocked rear door while the victim was asleep. The victim heard noises and woke up to see a silhouette of a person standing in the room holding a flashlight.

The victim screamed and the suspect fled, the police detective said. Unknown suspects may have also burglarized victim’s car that was parked in the driveway and took a cell phone.

The suspect who entered the victim’s home was described as a man wearing dark clothes and a baseball cap, Lee said.

Officers checked the area and located two subjects walking a block away. The suspects could not be tied to the incident but one suspect was found to have an outstanding warrant and was arrested.

South Pasadena police asked anyone with any information regarding the residential burglary to call them at (626) 403-7270.
