Pasadena Police officers are searching for a man who robbed a 19-year-old Pasadena resident Saturday night, after he used a handgun and struck the victim on the back of the head with the weapon, causing the victim to fall to the ground.

Pasadena Police Lt. Mark Goodman said the victim was walking in the area of E. Summit Street and N. Villa Avenue at around 10:32 p.m. when a car stopped next to him and the front passenger stepped out, displayed an unknown type of handgun, and demanded his money.

“Fearing for his life, the victim gave the suspect his money,” Goodman said. “After taking the money, the suspect told the victim to turn around and struck him on the back of the head, possibly with the handgun. The victim fell to the ground and the suspect reentered the car and drove away.”

From investigation records, Goodman described the suspect as male Hispanic, 5 feet and 7 inches tall, about 220 pounds and with a bald head. He was heavy-set, wore a white short-sleeved shirt and khaki shorts, and was armed with an unknown type of handgun, according to the description.

Goodman said the victim was taken to a local area hospital where he was treated for his injury.

“The victim was complaining about pain at the back of his head,” Goodman added.

Officers are investigating the case and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about the incident and possibly about the suspect is encouraged to call the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4501.
