Two Victims Identified in Tuesday Morning Crash

A Los Angeles County Coroners official has identified the two victims in a two-vehicle car collision reported at 12:13 a.m. Tuesday morning near North El Molino Avenue and East Maple Street which also critically injured four others.

The two victims who died at the scene were Maria Delores Escobedo-Torres, 42, of Pasadena, and Vanessa Escobedo, 18, of Pasadena, the official said.

The relationship between the two was not stated.

Firefighters responding to the call from a nearby station arrived and found two vehicles involved in a crash with occupants pinned inside a vehicle.

“There were a total of five victims in one of the involved cars. Two adult females sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene,” a police statement said.

Pasadena Fire Department sources said that four patients in critical condition were transported to area hospitals.

The driver of the second car was treated at the scene and released, officials said.

One of the cars was seen flipped upside down in video shot after the crash.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are not yet known. No arrests in connection with the crash have been announced.
