Police spotted and arrested a wanted domestic violence suspect as he drove through Pasadena on Wednesday, ultimately seizing a pistol and methamphetamine from the man, officials said.

Anthony Wayne Parry, 60, of Pasadena was arrested at about 10:15 p.m. in the 2400 block of East Colorado Boulevard, according to Pasadena police officials and Los Angeles County booking records.

Officers on patrol spotted Parry driving and recognized him as a wanted suspect in a prior domestic violence case, Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess said.

After pulling him over and detaining him, officers found a loaded .380-caliber pistol in his waistband, the lieutenant said. Once taken to jail, police also found methamphetamine hidden in his sock.

Parry was booked in connection with the original domestic violence case, as well as weapon- and drug-related offenses, Burgess said.

According to county booking records, Parry was released from custody later in the day pending legal proceedings after posting $20,000 bail.
